Creator / Host of 1 Mile 1 Veteran
I'm Danny Mayberry, a Navy veteran who served as a Corpsman for 3 combat deployments. After returning home and transitioning out of the military, I began my struggles with PTSD and mental health. I have worked hard to build a community, focus on overall health, and recently started a podcast called 1 Mile 1 Veteran. The mission is to help prevent veteran suicide by sharing stories, providing resources, and connecting veterans to a community. Each episode is 22 minutes long, the average time it takes to walk one mile. It is an active podcast, one where you can listen while participating in physical activity. The physical act of walking one mile is enough to interrupt negative thoughts, raise endorphins enough to lift a person’s mood, and improve their overall health.
